The Autism Nature Trail (The ANT) at Letchworth State Park is a first-of-its-kind experience in nature designed for visitors on the autism spectrum and with a range of abilities—and also appropriate and enjoyable for all abilities and ages.
This project was a true joy to be a part of. It was a honor to be a part of the design team that included In-Site Architecture, TWMLA Landscape Architects, Autism researchers and practitioners, and families with children on the autism spectrum.
The largest project I’ve been involved in, The ANT Trail is a 1 mile accessible nature trail in the woods with 8 “stations” along the way that include: Sensory Station, Sunshine Slope, Music Circle, Reflection Knoll, Meadow Run and Climb, Design Zone, Playful Path, and the Trailhead Pavilion.
