This plan is for a large childcare center in Ithaca, NY that serves 200+ children infant thru school age—the full range! (One of the great things about natural playscapes is that nature offers something special for children of all abilities and ages.)
This group wanted to keep an open single space feel about their yard, but for licensing reasons they needed to have separate areas of interest that a single class could use while other classes and age groups were also outside. Looking closely at these designs you’ll see 11 different play zones! That’s a lot! Each zone is meant to be interesting and engaging and have a character and feel all it’s own so that classes will be excited to be there and excited to visit other zones on different days. This design is like 11 playscapes in one!
